It was my husband’s birthday recently, he doesn’t really care for cake but I make him one every year anyway!
So this year I made a Reese’s birthday cake!
Nothing too fancy, I used boxed milk chocolate cake mix and I made the icing from scratch using Reese’s peanut butter!
I mixed the cake mix according to directions, only I replace water with milk, I also use one box per 8inch pan. You will have a little bit of mix left over if you do this as well, but if you have a small pan, there’s your “sampling” peice!
For the icing I used 1 stick of softened butter, mixed with hand mixer until fluffy. Added 1/4 cup of milk, a teaspoon of vanilla extract, a cup of Reese’s peanut butter, mixed together, and then gradually added 3/4 of a bag of powdered sugar. Every so often I would add just a splash of milk so the icing wouldn’t be too dry. I could have probably added a little bit more powdered sugar in the end to have the icing a little thicker.
Then ice!
Nice receipt 😋
