Fair warning, the photos in this post are from 2017. This post was by far my most pinned post from my blog (before I had to start over!). So I’m going to do my best to recreate it!
I had made my husband a Reese’s cake for his birthday — he doesn’t even like cake, but he’ll be getting a cake made from me every year anyway! – What did he expect when he married a cake decorator?

Everything needed, minus powdered sugar and butter!
- Box cake mix – chocolate
- Milk
- Vegetable Oil
- Eggs
- Powdered sugar
- Butter
- Reese’s Peanut Butter
- Reese’s pieces
- Reese’s

You’ll make your cake mix as directed on the box, I add an extra egg and make mine with milk instead of water.

Bake your cake! – I like to keep it simple.
While the cake is baking, make your icing. I use a bag of powdered sugar per 2 sticks of butter. You can adjust this to make it more creamy/thick to your liking! – For Peanut Butter icing, add your peanut butter as you’re mixing to make sure it’s not going to be too thick! You can add splashes of milk to make it creamy! You can also add heavy whipping cream. It just depends on how you like it!

When my cakes are done baking I put them in the freezer to get them cooled down enough to ice. If your cakes are warm, the icing is going to melt.

Finish icing your cake, make 8 rosettes and a dollop in the middle. Place your Reese’s in between the rosettes and then fill with Reese’s pieces! Done! — Of course you can make any design you’d like to!
Reese’s peanut butter cups are seriously my favorite thing ever! I am definitely bookmarking this and going to try and make it for my husband’s birthday (he really loves peanut butter cups too!)
Now, if you know me well, I am not one to make a recipe over and over again. I just want to try all new recipes and all new things and what if I miss out on a wonderful new recipe, ya know?
